vamp no: 5: the latest wrinkle filler is your blood
there's a new wrinkle plumper-upper on the horizon and this time it has to do with your own blood. last year the fda approved selphyl (platelet-rich plasma shots thought to be high in growth factors which can stimulate collagen). how it works is; a small amount of your blood is drawn then spun around (the platelets and fibrin are separated in a centrifuge machine). once prepared, the prp injectable is placed beneath the skin (similar to a dermal filler) into the targeted areas. and while the cheek plumping, wrinkle minimizing results aren't immediate (may take as long as three weeks), the benefits are thought to last a year and a half. sounds better than botox to me.
